Narcotics Unit
The Gulf County Sheriff's Office Narcotics Unit is supervised by Sgt. Matt Herring and is responsible for conducting narcotic and vice investigations in Gulf County. Information from citizens and the utilization of informants are used to investigate the distribution of illegal substances. The unit conducts complex and long-term investigations involving illegal clandestine labs, drug trafficking, and marijuana eradication. The Narcotics Unit maintains contact with citizens and law enforcement agencies at the local, state, and federal levels. In addition to narcotic and vice investigations, the unit assists the Sheriff's Office with surveillance operations, electronic monitoring, and undercover operations.
